At Transfabulous, Sara Davidmann will be showing a collaborative work based on the wedding of Stephen Whittle and Sarah Rutherford that took place on June 18th 2005. It consists of a text written by Stephen Whittle on the personal/political issues at the centre of the wedding that is exhibited alongside a series of photographs from the day.

Stephen campaigned for 26 years to be able to legally marry Sarah, his long-term partner, and the wedding day was a fantastic celebration of their commitment to each other. Furthermore, it was a historically momentous event that marks a tremendous achievement in gaining rights for all trans people.

Sara Davidmann is a photographer best known for her work with trans people. She is the author of 'Crossing the Line', a monograph published by Dewi Lewis and 'trans agenda', Source 2004.

Davidmann has exhibited extensively in Europe, America, and Australia. Recent exhibitions include: Paris Photo, Basel Art Fair, MOMA Oxford, 'Somatechnics', Sydney, 'view point', London. She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work including a Fulbright Hays scholarship, an Association of Commonwealth Universities Fellowship, Arts and Humanities Research Council awards and several grants from regional arts councils.
