Gerry, London 2002 At Transfabulous, Sara Davidmann will be showing a collaborative work based on the wedding of Stephen Whittle and Sarah Rutherford that took place on June 18th 2005. It consists of a text written by Stephen Whittle on the personal/political issues at the centre of the wedding that is exhibited alongside a series of photographs from the day. Stephen campaigned for 26 years to be able to legally marry Sarah, his long-term partner, and the wedding day was a fantastic celebration of their commitment to each other. Furthermore, it was a historically momentous event that marks a tremendous achievement in gaining rights for all trans people.
