Kate Bornstein
KATE BORNSTEIN is an author, playwright and performance artist whose latest book is "Hello, Cruel World: 101 Alternatives To Suicide For Teens, Freaks, and Other Outlaws."
Other published works include the books "Gender Outlaw: On Men, Women and the Rest of Us" and "My Gender Workbook". Kate's books are taught in over 120 colleges and universities around the world; and ze has performed hir work live on college campuses, and in theaters and performance spaces across North America, Europe, and Australia. Her new memoir, "Kate Bornstein Is A Queer and Pleasant Danger," is due in bookstores in September, 2008,
Jamison Green
Jamison Green is a native of Oakland California born in 1948. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in English (Fiction Writing) in 1972 from the University of Oregon and pursued a career in publications management in business and high technology industries.
He transitioned from female-to-male in 1988 and began educating and campaigning for transgender and transsexual health, safety, and civil rights in 1989. He is the author of Becoming A Visible Man (2004, Vanderbilt University Press) and numerous anthologized writings.
He now works in North America as an independent educator and policy consultant while plugging away at his doctoral dissertation in law at the U.K. Manchester Metropolitan University.
Sachi "Scratch" Nehra and Jin Haritaworn
Sachi 'Scratch' Nehra is a visual artist, art project coordinator, DJ and queer activist.
Jin Haritaworn is an intellectual and educator around race, gender and sexuality, a trainee sex therapist and sometimes a poet. He is also the workshop programmer of Transfabulous.
Lazlo Pearlman
Lazlo Ilya Pearlman has been making performances since he was a 10-year-old girl. Always a show queen, he appeared in many musicals such as No, No, Nannette, Oliver! and West Side Story (As the tomboy and nascent dyke Jet wannabe "Anybody's").
Lazlo has just had a two week run of his smash-hit solo production, "He was a Sailor, the sea was inside him" at the Drill Hall. A director, performer, writer and filmmaker, Lazlo is one of the leadning movers and shakers on the London cabaret/performance scene.
Ignacio Rivera
Ignacio Rivera is a Queer Trans-Entity, Black Boricua performance artist. Z/He is a lecturer, activist, self-proclaimed sex educator and sex worker.
Z/He is the founder of Poly Patao Productions, is dedicated to producing sex-positive workshops, performance pieces, play parties, panel discussions, teach-ins, social/political groups and educational opportunities that are specially geared toward queer women, transgender, multi-gender, gender-queer, gender non-conforming and gender variant folx of color.
Z/He has currently embarked on a film project, "Shades of Kink" a series of educational/documentary style films around inserting a racial/class/sexual orientation and gender analysis into the Kink world. Ignacio is also one of the founding board member of Queers for Economic Justice, a progressive non-profit organization committed to promoting economic justice in a context of sexual and gender liberation.
Last but not least, Ignacio is also a mother to a wonderful 17 year old daughter.
Phoebe Tunstall
Phoebe Tunstall is a queer perverse anarcho commie feminist transwoman (and probably has plenty of other labels) who has previously been involved in activism within the NUS LGBT but is a little anxious about saying what exactly and doesn't much like the way that the use of activist or academic pedigrees can often hide the impact of the countless informal and unnamed groups of people (trans or otherwise) who struggle with oppression on a daily basis in mundane ways.
